Veshtsu-Tal heh Komihn-Tal -- Uhmerikuhlar

The Americas, known as the New World, were populated by humans only recently, geologically speaking. Pleistocene man first arrived from Europe following the edge of the frozen North Atlantic, although most of their sites along the eastern edge of North America were submerged by rising post-glaciation sea levels. They were soon followed by the Paleoindians and other Asian peoples, crossing the Bering land bridge. At some point thousands of years ago, the dominant Clovis culture and most of the megafauna died out, possibly accelerated by a meteor or comet impact. Man survived and eventually filled North and South America. In more recent Pre-Columbian prehistory, Vikings and possibly Mediterranean peoples, like the Phoenicians, Minoans or Eqyptians, arrived by sea. There are also valid theories that Pacific Islanders, Chinese, Japanese, Africans, the Irish, the Welsh, the Druids or the Templars may have arrived in small numbers but soon died out, left or were absorbed by the Native Americans.

Includes dig sites, ruins, historic places and important people of the areas this page covers. Vulcans transliterate places and names in as close to native pronunciation as possible.
